Bought a 410 for my daughter today and got out to put about 5 boxes through it. Tried to nudge her to the 686 but she preferred the Franchi so that's what we got. After 5 boxes i'm pretty darned pleased. Wood is ugly as sin, checkering is cheap and i'd have preferred a white bead to the red pipe but beyond that i like it. nice finishes on the metal (i'd strongly prefer a matte finish on the case coloring but almost noone does that) and pretty darned decent feel working the trigger, safety and opening lever.

For $600 less than a 686 I think it's a good option particularly as a field gun.
