Is it the weight that bothers you or the balance?

Sometimes, altering the balance can change your perception of the weight. You might start by ADDING weight to the stock and see how the gun feels. As a test, you could fill the bolt cavity in the stock with coins. Yes, I realize that’s counter-intuitive.

I agree with Blade. If a gun feels heavy and non-responsive in its feel and swing, add some weight to the buttstock. If it's a hunting gun that you carry quite a bit, try adding about 8 ounces. If it's a target gun, try adding about 12 to 20 ounces. Adjust the weight to suit your taste.
