Post subject:  Hello everyone and first question

Hi!

I'm new to the forum because I just bought a (like) new Baikal MP153 and I've found lots of info over here. I hope I can find help and/or advices here, and maybe give some in the future.

Received the gun a couple of days ago. It is a 12/76 08... series with wooden furniture, so I assume it's made in 2008 (is that any good?). It comes from a gun shop that apparently had it for exposure. No visible signs of use apart from light "scratches" on the bluing in the part of the barrel that goes into the receiver.

Not been able to test shoot it, but the seller says he could shoot a box of 28 gram shells with no issue.

As a curiosity, the factory mark on the gas regulator is at the bottom of the notch, but the regulator is flush with the upper end of the cylinder. Didn't touch it, I wait for the first test.

Anyway, I'd also want to ask for advice on buying some spare parts, just to keep them "just in case". I've found them extremely difficult to source nowadays, but hopefully I can manage to get some of them brought to Europe from EAACorp, who still sells some. Which parts should I look for first? Which of them are most prone to get "broken"?

Thank you very much in advance! See you over here!

Joan

Order any gas seals and firing pins and firing pin return springs.

Thank you!

I'll look for available parts related to firing pin, springs and gas system first.

Bolt handle. On post - 2006 guns they don't fly away as often as they used to, but sometimes it does happen.

Humpty is the resident expert on all things Baikal. I have taken advantage of his insights often. Thanks Humpty.

I have one of the first Map-153 brought into the U. S. They are well designed and robustly built. I’ve used mine for all clay games, and it does very for me in Skeet.

OP - If you pm me your email, I’ll send you a PDF of the owners manual.

Good luck and safe shooting.

Does someone now import parts for the different Baikal shotguns?

I don’t think so. Baikal parts continue to be unavailable.
