Hello. I spent time patterning a Baikal IZh-54 that I recently purchased and would like to share the results with fellow members. Pattern test results from fellow members are welcome. See some pics attached. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for sharing. The Russian guns don't get a lot of much deserved love around here. Looks like yours is par for the course in pattern --- tight and tight. Any plans to have it opened up?

I have an IZH-54. It's a surprisingly nice gun. I really like it . . . I had the chokes opened in mine so I can't add anything to the discussion of shot patterns. But I do like the gun.

The 54 is hard to find, and definitely a nicer gun than the newer models.

Thanks for your reply. For now I want to enjoy the tight chokes and patterns. I also kind of like the idea of the original 1968 shotgun and chokes. It also happen that my only other shotgun has an open fixed cylinder choke, and now for the first time the Baikal is letting me enjoy tight patterns. I could eventually open one of the barrels. I really like the hefty thick barrels on the IZh-54.
