I'm hoping to find a forum for new shotgun shooters and reloaders. Also, is there a thread with kayak hunting? I just bought a single shot break action 12 gauge and I'd like to get a duck. I've been a bird watcher for years but I've never taken a duck, so I'm looking for some guidance.

I don't have a kayak but I do have a pirouge I built & a double ended duck boat that are similar. I have had good luck paddling in small creeks jump shooting. Mostly for wood ducks.

That is a good strategy, until freeze up anyway. I agree though, it will be really good for a wall hanger wood duck.

The only thing I suggest is make your shot count. A single shot is a fun gun but not very friendly for a follow up shot.

What kind of gun did you buy and what is the choke?
