Good job! You've got some healthy/plump looking squirrels there.
Can't see the dog real well since he/she is partially hidden, but the dog appears to have a lot of hound blood in him. I thought that Mtn Curs were more like a feist or terrier type breeding.
Does the dog bark "treed" on scent or does he wait to see the squirrel before barking? In other words, is he a scent hound or sight hound... or both? As you might guess, I love hound dogs.

She’s a registered OMC, original mt cur. She is large for the breed, they tree by both sight and scent, it’s usually a really hot scent for them to tree. Dead silent on track.

That's interesting. Got any more good pics of the dog you can post? How old is she? Does she hunt any other game besides squirrels? What about coons, possums, fox, coyote?

Thanks. The black dog appears to have less hound blood than the black and tan dog. Both are nice looking dogs and obviously know how to find and tree squirrels. This time of year is usually deer gun season in many states. Unless I was deer hunting, I didn't like to be out in the woods during deer gun season. I preferred to hunt small game or birds either before or after deer gun season. Generally, after was better. Once deer gun season is over, most of the amateurs give it up for the year. Then you've got the woods pretty much to yourself. BTW, I don't see any orange garb on you. I always wore plenty of orange because I wanted other hunters to see me and recognize that I was a hunter and not a deer slipping through the woods. Just too dangerous, IMO, to wear camo in the woods today. I fully support all kinds of hunting, but just don't trust all hunters when it comes to my life. Just my opinion. Good luck. Thanks again for the nice pics. Feel free to post more if you have them.

Our gun season comes in this week. I won’t hit the squirrel woods again till it’s over. You’re right, I should wear blaze orange, especially on public land.
