At the upper levels, probably......but what I’m really saying is it doesn’t apple ably slow anything down.
I can load one at a time, and comfortably be on #3, before most jaw jacking, crotch scratching, ghost mounting, feet shuffling guys loading two. Hell, could probably walk back to the rack for shells each time.........
Loading one at a time ain’t the slow down, it’s all the other bs getting ready to call that is the slowdown. But, you are starting to sound like a trappie;-)

nit pickers will agree theres less recoil on the first shot in a semi auto, if you load 2. this is the way I look at it with o&u's. you have 2 bbls. my bottom bbl engages the first bird. my top bbl engages the second. bottom bbl is regulated to the top bbl, not the other way around. so, I prefer to keep the same bbl hitting the same bird. I load 2 except on 8. all 8's are bottom bbl....including the 25th.
for those that shoot singles on high, then low, then 2 for doubles, youre changing bbls for 2nd bird on doubles. sure nit pickers will say both bbls engage the bird the same at 21yds, but not all shots hit the birds at 21yds. I want the same bbl hitting the same bird.
food for thought. think it out.

I single load my automatic simply because you are only allowed two malfunctions per round. Why take a chance on using one of those for a malfunction between singles?
