If you want some of the best pouches IMHO look at Donny Weaver’s and Tex Hollis’ stuff. You won’t regret it.

Do most guys prefer the ones with a single large pouch with a divider? I'm currently using a two-tier pouch with a pocket at the belt line for a box of shells and a big pocket below that for empties. The big lower pocket has a zipper on the bottom so you can easily empty it without taking off the punch.
I use it for skeet and it works well for me with all gauges of ammo.

My lonesome Charlie is a single pouch with a divider. Its a little crowded shooting 12 ga. Its hard to get 25 empties in the pouch on one side of the divider.
I don't shoot much 12ga so its not a problem for me.

My canvas one referenced above has the divider. It holds 30/40 12 gauge shells. As I shoot, I transfer the dead ones to the empty side. Works fine.
Personally, I wouldn't want to cart around any more than 40 loaded 12:gauge shells.

Me, I like the cloth Beretta pouch whether you call it nylon or canvas. But I do agree that a more substantial belt is an improvement. I put two boxes of 12 gauge shells on the side closest to my body. There is room for a few more. Works great.

My wife used a Lonesome Charlie pouch; I use an older Cabela's cotton canvas dove vest - gives me a pocket on each side and a pouch for empties in the back. Suspenders make sure all stays put
