Jack,

Can you please clarify: are you stating that for these presentations you start with the muzzles close to the break point and higher than the butt stock? This would require a pivot type mount if I understand correctly.

Exactly correct. My muzzle is on-line or just slightly below, and enough behind my intended BP to allow me synch-up time. From FITASC low position, I have a slight forward lean to facilitate the mount, execute mount on the target flash by pivoting on the muzzle and initiating movement along the line (move and mount as a unified motion), bringing the butt essentially straight up into my shoulder pocket. When executed well, I should be at lead and on line AND moving with target as my mount is completed.

Hope that clarifies.

PS: The single biggest mistake I see shooters make in FITASC, is mounting to what would be their sporting HP, then start moving the gun along the target line; essentially turning the mount and move into two distinct moves. Far more efficient IMHO if the shooter can combine those into one smooth movement that ends up on line and up at lead, and in synch with the target speed ;)

A very high level Fitasc shooter showed me a trick for trap type birds. Hold in the middle of the chest and come straight up to the face.
