Hello all. I have never shot sporting clays before and have been invited by a friend to shoot a few rounds over the approaching holidays. I'll be shooting a 20 gauge 686 sp. My question is what choke combination should I use. I have no idea at the distances the targets Will be presented at. I normally bird hunt with briley light mods in each barrel. Will this be suitable to try to shoot sporting clays. I'll be shooting 1 ounce of 8 shot at 1210fps. TIA

LM will work just fine for the vast majority of sporting targets. Have a good time!

No need for a 1oz 20 gauge load; standard target loads are 7/8; your LM will be just fine

I agree with everyone else, I have LM in all the SC guns I shoot, and LM in my once a year hunting gun. All around good choke.

For 20 I use only IC and Mod (I have a fixed choke gun). I can hit any target on the field with that using 7/8 oz loads.

For 12 it's a different story. Typically LM is what I use but I also sometimes use Mod for a very long shot where a lot of concentration is required.
