I have a beretta 682 with an adjustable comb and I fell in love with sporting clays and I would like to use an xtrap barrel and would like it to shoot 50/50. Can that be done.

You can try one of those magnetic front sights which use the fluorescent beads.

Anything which raises the front bead will lower your POI, assuming you don't change the comb height.

If its tubed .... have Briley (Tx) make a choke tube(s) that will place shot to your preference. No tube .... have Briley install a set of thin wall tubes to your specs.

I do not know a trap shooter that would want a 50/50 POI. The target offers a vertical presentation and required lead. This would be like a new shooter using a field gun to shoot trap. They all end up buying a trap model with a higher POI if serious about the game. Those are the shooters that improve. I do know of shooters using a sport model O/U with an adjustable comb raised. In fact, the bests doubles shooter in Ia uses a sporter for doubles. The only truly gifted doubles shooter that I know that excels without a trap model.

What your asking for is possible. Just wondering if you have thought this out enough.

Drop the comb down to lowest position and pattern it, see what you get.

kyskeet and cwtech have pretty much all you need to know to get the job done.

This ^.
Putting a higher front bead on a shotgun should not cause it to shoot lower unless you are using that bead to aim, like a rifle.
And we all know the problems that can cause.
To get your gun...not the barrel.... to shoot lower, you simply need to lower your eyes in relation to the barrel. This is done at the stock, not at the muzzle. You could have special choke tubes made that would lower the POI, but the expense and trouble would be far, far more than just lowering the gun's comb.
I have a 682 Gold Trap X that I wanted to be able to shoot 50/50. Even with the comb dropped all the way down on the factory stock, it still shot too high. I got the results I wanted by buying a skeet buttstock for it. I had an adjustable comb put on it, but that wasn't totally necessary. After putting the skeet buttstock on it, with the comb at the lowest position, the trap gun shot 50/50.
Buttstocks for the 680-series guns are easy to find and not expensive. In fact, I have an extra skeet/field stock for a 682 that I'll sell cheap. The wood isn't beautiful, but it's solid. PM me if you're interested.

Mine shot 50/50 even with a parallel comb MC stock.
I have heard numerous stories of people using them for Skeet.
Comb set to lowest position and if that isn,t enough add adjustable butt plate.
I guess the build of the person shooting it matters most.
