I just bought a Stoeger M3000 in shadow grass blades. When I put it together I shouldered it and there was a rattle. It sounded like it was coming from the magazine. I took the cap off and the limiter plug slid out. I reinstalled the magazine cap and the rattle was gone. I reinstalled the plug and put 2 3 inch rounds in the magazine and it still rattled. I looked at the schematic in the manual and I see there is a plastic cap that installs inside the tube to keep the plug in place. I called service and they said they no longer use that plastic cap. They said to remove the retaining spring clip that holds the spring in the mag and place the limiter into the spring and replace the spring retaining clip. I don't understand why the factory does not install them this way. The rattle is annoying and unlike most magazines the retaining clip is about 3/4 of an inch inside the mag . This was of course to accommodate the plastic cap. Anyone ran I to this issue. I am in Canada and will never take the plug out. This is a waterfowl and Turkey gun.

Well 245 views and 0 replies. I put in a service request and Stoeger Canada is sending the plastic cap. I have had several questions for them mainly about things that are either not mentioned in the owners manual or in this case not updated. They have been extremely prompt and very easy to work with. Kudos to Stoeger Canada! Also I noticed that after a box of shells the clip that holds the magazine spring has moved about 3/4 of an inch up the tube towards the magazine cap.. It was recessed at least that much inside the tube when I had the original rattle. I saw this on my Nephews M3500 as well.

Stoeger sent me part 507. Plastic cap. I moved the spring clip back down to its original position, installed the plug and the plastic cap. Now it looks like the schematic blow up in the manual. You have to put in a service request for this part. Apparently they do not use this part anymore. Kind of dumb because every time you take the fore end off the limiter plug can fall out.
