I just got a new Stoeger M3500 Waterfowl Edition. When assembling, I could not for the life of me get the barrel and forend fully seated. There was a small gap. What I had to do was squeeze the forend and barrel which still didn’t get it all the way. Finally I put the stock on my hip, grabbed the barrel, and pulled back while screwing in the magazine cap. This made it fit flush. I know after I shoot it I’m sure it will get easier. But could this somehow bend the barrel doing this or is that ok? I should have tapped butt stock in the ground. Sorry, I’m ocd about things.
