Hi guys, just wondering if anyone else is having this issue. I bought the burnt bronze cerekote M3000 with Woodstock‘s. I love it for its simplicity and it is actually very good looking. Funny how many people ask what model of Beretta it actually is… LOL I now have a few thousand rounds through it and I do clean it but going to the range for skeet a few times a week I have noticed that over the last month I have been getting about 2 shells that don’t eject causing a jam for my second shot. Anyone else experience this and am I missing something. These are 1 1/8 Winchester target loads Thanks

If you are indeed shooting "Winchester Target" Loads" they should be of the AA brand. If those are acting up, it is safe to say it is not the ammo. If they are the "Winchester Universal" shells I would try some different ammo before concluding it is the gun's fault. Which ammo is it?

It is the regular super target loads. The AA’s up here on Canada are ridiculously expensive. Didn’t really do it until after about 1000 rounds… On average if I shoot 3-4 rounds of skeet it’ll happen twice on doubles

Winchester super targets have a tendency to stick in the chamber in some guns. Try something else and see if it still does it.

Maybe I’ll trade a few boxes to see. I have 10 flats of the Winchester. I don’t think that’s it though. Like I said it didn’t do it at the beginning. Thanks

Have you checked the extractor claw? If worn replacing the extractor and spring with Benelli M2 parts should solve the problem. Three gun shooters do this as an upgrade even on a new gun.

This is my biggest pet peeve with this gun. I have owned it for 2 years now. I shoot leftie and found that MOA precision makes a left hand safety which I installed. Also added the left hand shims and adjusted the drop. So all ready for ducks right. NO. first shell hangs up and ducks fly away. I have put maybe 100 shells through it and have had several hang ups. Using 1 1/4 loads. So I took it completely apart and cleaned all the gunk (carbonite) out of it . I also pulled the magazine spring and follower and thoroughly cleaned the tube . It was cruddy and crusty in there. Now it was smooth as butter. And it hung up again. So I took the advice that the 3 gun guys gave and ordered the Benelli extractor and spring. The Stoeger extractor is almost blunt when compared to the Benelli. The spring is bigger as well. An easy switch with the right tools. The Stoeger extractor is a cast part, and the Benelli is machined. And to top it off Stoeger Canada has the parts in stock. They are for the M2. About 50 bucks delivered. I also have a Motrfeltro and an SX4 Winchester. And I now feel that I can trust this gun as much as them. The Stoeger is my only camo gun so I wanted something I could rely on in The duck blind. Now I have it. And I had a lot of fun doing the work myself.

Thanks zman, I see you’re also in Ontario. Where did you order it from?

I suppose that after more than a month and a half that you've probably already fixed your gun but if not. let me second (or third) the motion to replace your extractor. My neighbor bought an M3020, on my recommendation, for his kids to use in the 4H shooting program. We experienced the same thing with their gun; maybe 2 malfunctions every 25 rounds or so. The instructors suggested all manner of fixes from changing ammo type to polishing various parts but I ordered a Benelli extractor and spring, changed it out for them in just a few minutes and it has been 100% reliable ever since. Change the extractor and spring and you'll be golden!

To be honest I have not done anything with it yet… I have been using my over under at the club as this is more of a hunting and poor weather club gun. I just have to get around to finding a dealer to order the m2 parts from. I do believe you are 100% correct in your recommendation. Thanks boray

Sorry I missed your post. I just phoned Stoeger Canada, they took my order over the phone. Delivered it . A little pricey at 50 bux delivered but no border hassle and great people to work with. There is a you tube video on how to replace it. Pretty straight forward. Haven't shot it a lot but I am sure this will solve your issue. Light loads are a b***h with these guns. The benelli looks like a machined part compared to the Stoeger stamped or cast piece. The Benelli extractor Spring is larger as well. They are tiny parts but very important in a smooth operation. I also found that the magazine tube was very dirty and gritty. Take the spring and follower out and run the barrel brush through it and thoroughly clean it and re assemble. Makes a huge difference in loading and miving shells onto the lifter.

I finally had the time to talk to them. They quoted me the same. It's $50 delivered. One question....I can definitely see the extractor but is there that much of a difference in the spring? has anyone only changed the one and not had a problem? only asking because shipping is free so its not like it matters to get both at the same time. we are only paying for the parts themselves. Thanks

The spring is slightly longer and thicker. I think they are made to go together. This way you only have to do it once. After you change it another thing to watch is that when you load up make sure the bolt has fully rotated and is seated fully . This can still cause the "Benelli click" if not fully seated. I find that sometimes in the duck boat you rest the butt down hard. And this may cause the bolt to receede enought to not let the firing pin reach the shell. Then "Click" . I alway make sure to push the bolt handle fully forward periodically during the hunt. I have since gone to a gas operated Canuck Hunter Leftie in Duck Blind Camo and have zero issues. I still have the Stoeger but getting limited use.
