There is a member named Rubberhead from Moncks Corner - is that close enough for you?

I only get to visit CHS every two years or so. My company has a facility off of Ashley Frustrate, right under the approach pattern to the airport.

Capt Rick,
No, I don't hunt hogs. In fact, I only hunt clay targets (i.e., skeet, sporting clays, and (on occasion) trap). A few friends have invited me to join them on deer hunts, dove hunts, and/or turkey hunts; however, I have politely declined to accept their invitations. I just prefer to either 1) spend 20 minutes on a skeet or trap field and be able to get instant gratification on each one of those 25 shots or 2) spend 2 or 3 hours with a group of shooters on a sporting clays course while attempting to beat my average or best my fellow shooters in a 100 target round of sporting clays.

I'm about 50 miles NW of Chucktown. Orangeburg county. We've got hogs 5 miles in any direction from my spot in the woods, but not here yet. I've seen you on the Wehuntsc site Rick. I'm Jdheatmag. Done any good with the deer yet?

I hunt with a couple Buddy's on there clubs. They have deer and hogs but I only shoot hogs with a 454 pistol.
One club is in Goose creek and the other club is in Round-O, just outside of Cottageville.
We shot three hogs last night at the club in Round-O.............

I visit a few times a year. Are there clubs nearby that welcome guests? My daughter lives on Daniel Island.

Jersey Jim,

The two nearby (?) to Daniel Island sporting clays venues are:

1) Back Woods Quail Club (just outside of Georgetown off of the intersection of Hwy 41 (North) and Hwy 51). Look at the club's website: https://www.backwoodsquailclub.com/ The club has two fully automated sporting clays courses, a trap field, a skeet field, a five stand field, and a flurry set-up. The club is a premier venue; it hosted the U.S. Open a few years ago and hosts quite a few other shoots (e.g., youth, regional, and vintage shoots). It may be a distance (It is 59.3 miles from the northeast area of Mount Pleasant.) from Daniel Island; however, I know that you will enjoy sporting clays at Back Woods, along with the great Southern hospitality of Rick Hemingway and his entire crew.

2) Partridge Creek (just outside of Ridgeville; take 526 to 26 and head to Columbia), a private club, is closer to Daniel Island and is open to the general public one or two days per week. It has skeet fields, trap fields, and a 10 station sporting clays course. Look up their website and telephone in advance to find out their hours and when the club is open to the general public.
