Weatherby SA-08 20 Compact

I picked this up a couple of years ago for my (now) 13 year old son based on some thoughts by Mr. Wakeman. I have to say that it has never missed a beat through two active hunting seasons and going into a third.

Indeed, just grabbed a Trulock Lt. Modified precision hunter choke for next month’s upcoming dove season.

I have a Weatherby SA-08 Deluxe that has beautiful wood on it. Probably 300-400 rounds through it.

20 gauge 26" barrel $500 if you're interested

May I ask why a 20?? Don’t get me wrong, I own 20s and love them and really like the Browning Silver in 20, but why not a 12? I have an 8 year old and 5 year old that are going to start with my Beretta A300 sporting (obviously not right now). I’m fitting a RL stock to it and it’s great and cycles 7/8oz and 3/4oz great and is a soft shooter

Where did you find the RL stock?

+1 Benelli Montefeltro used (inertia gun)

Beretta 391 Urika used (gas gun)

I still see full length butt stocks and 26 or 28 barrels for both guns for sale, so if you found a youth model o rneeded to shorten the butt stock some it could "grow" with him.

I found a new in the box mossberg batam for $150. So far he likes it. He's shot skeet (all singles)and a little trap with it and he is doing ok. In a few years I'll get im a clays gun.

This is what I bought my Grandson last year. I think I paid about $160 OTD. The shop did not have the smaller recoil pad with it so I ordered from mossberg for under $20. He has grown so much in the last six months that I think I'm going to have to put the spacer back. He is progressing well enough that he will join our annual family pheasant hunt next year. He's 10 and hitting about 60% from the spring trap. His next step will be to add one in the mag so he can practice taking a second shot on a missed bird.
