If you had an extra day or two on your drive down from Chicago to San Antonio for the nationals what course or two would you like to shoot along the way and why

Ozark Mountain. Any of the clubs around Dallas.

Why? Having grown up practically in Claythorne's back yard, I'm always interested in what others see in that place.

Definitely stop and shoot at Defender Clay Sports Ranch in Ft Worth. Great pre Nationals targets set now, and great friendly people. 30 stations plus 5 stand.

Plus its much easier to go through the metroplex on I 35 west than to fight through Dallas on I 35 east.

I shot three clubs in the Dallas area, and enjoyed all of them. Dallas Gun Club, Elm Fork, and Fossil Pointe.

All three of them will be enjoyable.

First, I really enjoy the people. Jake always makes sure that we are taken care of.

Second, they set really good targets and have several towers that you always see at Nationals and there is no one else in OK that throws tower birds.

Third, it’s a pretty place to shoot.

Fourth, they have terrain that gives them the availability to throw presentations with targets below your feet. This is also hard to find in OK.

I would also add the Texas clubs are great too. I would also add Greystone to the list but it may be too far out of the way. William Walton a former National Champion runs the place, he sets great targets and the terrain is unbelievable.

Really? I guess beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder. I think it's ugly. The remains of strip mining just doesn't make it for me.
