I want a new gun for dove (opening day...) and occasionally jump shooting some ducks. I don't shoot a lot, but like to take my dog to get some real bird retrieves vs dead ducks launched from a winger. A300, Franchi Affinity, SA-08, Winchester SX4, V3...

With those guns, is it a Ford, Chevy, Dodge argument? Go for best fit? I won't get to shoot it before buying. Is there one to avoid?

Thanks in advance for your time.

They all seem to be good shotguns, but my A300 fits me like a glove. I would never sell it unless I knew for a fact I could buy another one. Good luck with your final decision.

Assuming you are talking Sept 1, the good news is you have quite a while to decide. My vote is for the V3 but you should try to shoulder as many of them as you can before your purchase.

I agree with your comment it is a Ford, Chevy and Dodge argument. All likely good guns and choose what you like best of the group. For me it is the Remington.

+1 with what Specklebelly says, to include the V3 recommendation.

I bought a couple in that price range in the last year: a Beretta A300 and a Benelli Montefeltro (special deal at Dunn's). I love 'em both!

They're each different, but none of them are known to be particularly problematic.

I enjoyed shooting my Affinity so much that when a buddy recently talked me out of it (Bottomland camo model) I turned around and bought another this time in blue/walnut.They are almost identical to a Benelli M2 mechanically but I consider the Affinity to be superior due to the mainspring being wound around the magtube ala 1911 vs being in the buttstock (M2).
Simplicity and darned reliable.

Based on ownership I can recommend either the A300 or the V3. While I give the edge to the Beretta both guns are priced right, will function without mishap, are durable, and well worth their cost. I think either gun would provide decades of great service. Fortunately there is a lot of information about them both on this forum.

Lightly used Winchester SX3 over a new SX4.

You could probably still pick this one up. You'll be glad you did.

Yes indeed! That`s a great price on a fine field gun. I like mine a lot!
