WTF is a Whistling Gopher and WTF is it doing on an Ithaca forum ?

Well here goes (hopefully you will get a bit of a chuckle also).

I am/was trying to sell a couple Ithaca 37s over on another site. Wasn't long until the Whistling Gophers showed up.

Them: " what's that go fer ?" me/you: $$$$ Them: <insert whistling sound> "That's expensive"

Whistling Gopher is what my buddy the ex-gunsmith calls them (he ran into lots of them before throwing in the towel). They have no intention of buying the gun, the service (or whatever). They are just out to waste your time.
