J&P mainsprings were installed in my wife's 725. The trigger pull weight increased to 5 lb 12 oz for the bottom barrel and 6 lbs 0 oz for the top barrel. The trigger pull was about 4 lbs with the original springs.
Is it possible to use the mainsprings for a Citori Lightning in her 725? The Lightning springs will allow a lighter trigger pull weight. I just have a set on hand.

I'm curious why you changed the springs in her gun in the first place?

Check the parts numbers of the spring for the two guns. If same parts number, then they definitely will interchange. If not the same parts numbers, they might interchange anyway. If you have the springs on hand, take a look and give it a try. Good luck.

Thanks for your response. My wife uses low noise low recoil AA at 980 fps as she does not tolerate recoil. She experienced no reset for the second shot once in a while. It was recommended to try a stronger mainspring to send the disconnector to its next position more aggressively. She later realized that her fail to reset issue was actually due to trapping the trigger on some true pairs. Now that she knows this, she would like to get her sub 5 lb trigger weight back.

I went ahead and installed the Lightning mainsprings and the resulting trigger pull weight came down to 4 lbs 12 oz. The gun can fire under and over barrels with snap caps. We will shoot the gun this coming weekend. Fingers crossed.
