Does anyone have a Super Nova 12 gauge black with a 28 inch barrel, was wondering if the rubber in the stock really reduces the recoil, and how reliable are they, any comments would be appreciated.

Mr. Randy Wakeman did a review on the Benelli Super Nova awhile back(2010).

In the blind or for clays, the "ComforTech" stock really works.

Maybe this is the new 870. It certainly sounds great from Randy's report.

I have one of the Home Defense Peep sighted models and really like it. It really is better than a Remington 870 IMHO.

The Comfort tech stock really works. I bought my son the regular Nova and then several months later bought the Super Nova for me. Big difference. I regret not spending the extra $100 for my son.

Truer words have never been spoken! My buddy has a Nova, and I have the Super Nova. I’ve shot them side-by-side with identical loads, and the in recoil reduction in the Super is huge. 1150fps ounce loads feel like shooting a 22lr rifle with the Super.

I’ll add that shooting 3 1/2 inch loads with the regular Nova is nothing short of miserable on your shoulder and head. My buddy bought a box of 3 1/2 inch loads for duckhunting and fired one shell, after which he promptly handed me the other 24 loads and asked me if he could trade me for a box of 3 inch shells. I remember saying to him, “Come on man, they can’t be that bad,” to which he responded “Well go ahead and shoot one through my gun and tell me what you think.” I did, and instantly regretted pulling the trigger...

Used my "Super Nova" in a pump competition this weekend. It's totally reliable and soft shooting for any occasion. Mr. Wakeman was spot on with his review.

I know this thread is a little old, but I wanted to say thanks for the link to that article. You'd be surprised how little info there is out there on the benefit of the SN v's Nova. I purchased a black Nova from Academy after a sale they had mixed with a 1st Responder discount as a back up to my SBE3. I've had it for a few months and never fired it. I may sell it and get the SN now.

Thanks

May want to hold up on selling the Nova. Considering buying the Supernova outright, but with a different barrel than the one your Nova has. Barrels are horrible expensive, all most as much as the gun. Plus a lot of other parts interchange.

I'm considering a Supernova myself with an 24" barrel.
