That is another thing WHY would they not build tactical guns which is what is selling right now. The only thing on the shelves at the gun stores are garbage Chinese pumps. And gun prices are going up drastically. My p320c 4 yrs ago cost $400 with rebates $500 regular price and 2 weeks ago it was $529 at Scheels. Yesterday that gun was $649 with the new shipment. After I saw the union getting involved and the Mayor of Ilion complaining he would not get enough in taxes. I kind of lost hope. But at least Remington ammo is up and running hopefully help with ammo supplies.
And for those of you who like Unions remember A union almost killed the Twinkie!!!!!

Scheels has STS ammo for $13/box.

WTF would they need "product specialists" if they needn't bother with thinking about such things as caliber offerings and rifling twist rates?

If anyone wants to see a textbook example of that sort of fuddite reasoning, look at T/C's caliber/twist offerings. A prime example is that their idea of a viable 6mm offering in a chassis rifle marketed as a long range rifle is a 1 in 10" .243 Winchester.

Closer to home in this topic, Remington needed to redo the specs on Marlin's lever actions. If you've got a clean slate, why not update the 1894's twist rate from 1 in 38" to something like 1 in 20" or 28"? It's been a while since 300 grain bullets are such an extraordinary thing in 44 Mag or 45 Colt. Furthermore, if you're going to clean slate the 336 family, why not go with the updated, stronger design Marlin had developed for the 450, 308, and 338 Marlin?

Right now, before they're actually building them, is when they should be thinking about tweaking the specs of their rifle lineup. Maybe their new "product specialists" will be more savvy than their old ones.

S&W has announced that they are getting rid of T/C. Ruger now owns the Marlin line.

Last little video I saw from the new RemArms, LLC is that they will start with the 700, 870 and Versamax with products out in time for hunting season

But which hunting season?

Seriously, I hope they do and do well. So far they have missed about 8 different deadlines of their own.

Yep, pretty amazing some of us [you know who you are] said with cocky confidence Remington in NY was done! Well, gotta give Roundhill a fair shake as they are back with RemArms. Better than nothing and yes, we need to support their efforts and give them a chance!

One can hardly blame Adam Ballard for doing his job. However, a comment like "As we look to start up manufacturing, we are evaluating things like calibers, twist rates, and manufacturing processes ... " is nonsensical. Evaluating calibers and twist rates might have interesting to Sir Joseph Whitworth in 1859, but that has been a well traveled road in the 162 years since then.

Not nonsensical in the least.

Tell me how popular a 1:14 twist 223 or 1:10 twist 6.5CM is...Tell me how many 260 Rems sell in a year...Tell Remington which caliber and twist they'll be able to sell 50k of next year and which they will sell less than 1k of.

I would think that making .223/5.56 in 55 and 62 grains in bulk packaging would sell a lot of ammo. Ditto on 7.62x39.

I also think 9mm with round and hollow points. Ditto 45ACP.

I think shot shells in 12gauge with #7.5, 8.0, and 8.5 would sell like hot cakes. Then 8 round buck shot.

22LR would sell in the millions.

This is plenty to start with, IMO.
They prolly want to look into 150gr 3.08 and 6.5 creedmore. Maybe 44spl/magnum as well.

My 2 cents worth.

RemArms doesn't make ammunition.

You are right, they do not make ammo! They make firearms when some folks said they were gone! They are back in another light!

I will believe RemArms has risen from the dead when I see their guns in the stores and prospects for their longer term survival.
They have a steep hill to climb.

I think that is what we all hope for, but I agree with your assessment: a long shot.

I think that Randy is looking at this situation like a pragmatic banker would or a business executive. There is no nostalgia or emotional attachment. It’s purely analytical, frank and often brutal. On that basis, I agree. I would not put my money behind it. Randy has no ax to grind against the old Remington. He had a very favorable opinion of the V3 as well as the Versa Max and voiced his endorsement of those models many times. Remember, the old Remington is gone, forever, The new one is an entirely new animal, that has made many false promises. Don’t make the mistake of confusing the two. Being critical of the new entity has no reflection whatsoever on the one that is now gone.

There are so many informative shotgun enthusiasts on Youtube. Many of them provide exceptional knowledge on shotguns and their uses depending on what expertise you pursue. I embrace them all for any additional knowledge I can obtain for my personal interests which includes hunting and tactical applications. Sir, you are right. Many folks have strong opinions on certain brands and the generation of animosity must be considered. On a side note, I would love to see some individuals on this website quit acting like they are right all the time and be more open to fair discussions. Nope, not naming anyone. You know who you are and I will not point fingers. Have a wonderful evening.

Brand loyalty is entirely understandable. I’m guilty to some extent. Everyone has their favorite(s). However, I must point out that there isn’t a brand of guns anywhere he hasn’t at some time in their history laid a big fat stinking egg. Some more than once, or much more than once.

We`re all aware that RemArms ( Remington ) has not as of yet brought product to market, and won`t until sometime before fall hunting seasons according to them, but does anyone know if the Ilion plant is actually up and running with staff reporting for work each morning? Last word I saw was that they had brought 200 some odd employees back to the plant(?).

The brand loyalty stuff really does get silly at times. I personally can`t and won`t comment on how my particular brands of guns compare to others when I`ve never even seen, much less compared side by side, many others with those that I own.
