Allright folks, Toz asked for it, so lets see those photos of your O/Us, SxS, Single Shots, and 133 pumps.

A quarter century ago, while still in University, I saved just enough to buy the least expensive over/under shotgun available on the market....The Baikal Izh-27.
My first shotgun came with 28" barrels, 2 3/4" chambers and sling swivels. No single selective trigger, no ejectors, not even a recoil pad.
It looked exactly like the gun in the picture below.
Over the years, the Izh-27 changed very little. The most evident exterior change is a restyled forearm. Internally, the action and mechanism was little different than the older models (why fix something that is not broken). With time, features like 3" chambers, screw in choke tubes and ported barrels became available.
The picture below is a 2 3/4" version with the newer forearm, SST and fixed chokes.
In the USA, these shotguns are sold in different gauges and configurations as the Remington SPR models.
This is a modern Baikal Izh-27.

Ok here is my gun, old pictures which u may all have seen, i promise to take new ones...
its a IZH-27 Sporting 12ga, i refinished the stock with linseed oil after some light sanding with 800 grit, about 6-7 coats of linseed oil, and some rubbing again every now and then...
the extra wood on the back is cause the stock was too short for me... i rarely shoot loads over 1oz so i really dont need a recoil pad.... mostly i shoot 24g

Some chokes are ok for steel. Others are not. Check the owners manuals.

I sent a e-mail to the Baikal contact on their website, and they sent a file (curiously) of the Remington SPR 100 manual. They also answered that if it were a fixed modified choke, some use with steel would be OK.However,I have had the 'modified' choke on my 12 gauge single checked by a gunsmith, and its actually pretty close to a full choke despite being stamped modified. It was mentioned on a NZ shooting site I frequent, that removing around half a inch from the barrels of the old IJ-27 and refitting the bead is a common way for modifying these guns for steel, however they can only be used with 2 3/4 inch shells still so that would limit their use for many who prefer the 3" loads in steel.

Here are two images of my Remington/Baikal SPR210. I use it for Sporting Clays. I wanted something with my modern features (ejectors, single trigger, auto-safety), but a classic sxs feel. The 210 was perfect, and came with the right price.
