I don't think the Fiocchi AP slugs can be imported because the BATFE says they have no sporting purpose ( hunting or target shooting ). I couldn't find the the slugs listed on the Fiocchi ( USA ) web site but did see them on the the Fiocchi ( Italian ) web site. If anyone can read Italian maybe you could translate...

Firequest has some armor peircing slugs. I'm not sure if they'll measure up to those though.

Delta Force has 12ga "Armor Piercing" ammo. If you go to their website look at the top of the page you'll see a pull down list. Go to page number 27. This ammo is VERY EXPENSIVE at over six bucks a pop.

Just out of curiousity what would you need/want this ammo for?

Forget about buying ammo from firequest or delta. You will be ripped off. I got some ammo from both of them (just about every type of round) and they all sucked (except the tracers bird banger). Those AP rounds are...NOT.

In 1971 BRI ( Ballistic Research Industries ) developed the sabot slug in two forms. There was a soft lead slug for hunting and a hardened alloyed slug for police use. In 1972, S&W was licensed to make and sell the BRI slug but in 1974 the slug was dropped from their ammunition line. These rounds would penetrate automobile engine blocks , bodies , and heavy barricades. Tests showed that it would pentrate a 0.125 " steel plate at 100 yards compared to the Foster slug that would only dent the same plate at 50 yards. These slugs were developed to use in smoothbore shotgun.

Note that both slug are non-hollow pionts.

Even though this slugs have not been made for 20 years , they can still be found at gun shows and on line auction sites

Well if your interested in supreme pentration with a slug here's a thought.
Lyman makes a sabot slug that fits in a plastic shot cup.
Why not cast the alloy as hard as you want, linotype for instance.
Shooting this from an open choke bore should be harmless to the barrel.
It's also possible to do a little 'tinkering' and make your own steel penetrators for the standard foster slug.
One question though.
What for?
Consider that "cause I wanna" is plenty good 'nuff.
The question is not meant to poke fun, it's an honest question.
What for?

The police at the Hollywood bank robbery could have used some AP slugs to take down the body armored bad guys. A shotgun is never going to replace a rifle , but if the shotgun can be enhanced to perform more rifle like in range and penetration that a plus in my book.....

How far across is a intersection of a four lane road ? The police were making pistol hits that bounced off their body armor. I'm guessing , but probably the longest shot in most urban area's would be under 200 yards.
