2008 All-State Teams are posted on mynsca.com. New this year is an All-Zone team. I believe if you make the All-American or All-Zone, you are ineligible for All-State (correct me if this is wrong). Congrats to those who made either lists!

Chris , one of the BBs contributors, made the South Carolina team and my friend , Vik, made the Texas team (note ....Vik is now in M class and already has about 20 punches, shooting against the likes of Bobby Fowler and the top guns around Houston....if we could get him to shoot at the biggest shoots...Zones , US Open...there's no doubt that he'd be All American soon).

BC--you are correct...if you make the All Am or All Zone team , you don't go on the state team, too.

Guys Sera convientantly forgot to mention that he made the LA All State Team, Congrats to the Godfather of Sporting :D

Vik being named to the Texas team made me smile :D Since Im Vik's gunbearer and have witnessed his metoric rise all the way to the top I enjoy this. Now if I can just get him to travel out of Houston  All American no problem. Guys he is just that damn good.

Randy,

I don't know what you guys have been feeding Vik but he has mastered sporting clays in a hurry. He and I passed through some of the same classes at the same time and I knew he was always one that would put up a healthy score.

Congrats to all that were named.

Guys I would like to introduce myself, my name is Vik Wannessian and I am a new member.
RTA introduced me to this forum yesterday; also he was the one to introduce me to sporting clays almost two years ago.
Checking the site, I already recognize some of the members, Sera, JJuhl, Zac, Ron, and guys, thank you I am truly honored by all the encouraging comments.
Congratulations for all who made the All State teams, especially to Sera and Jimmy, and with all honesty, I fully expect RTA to be on that list next year.

Wow.
No great shakes in a state with about 35 registered shooters but it sounds cool if I say it fast.
I need to move to Vermont if I'm ever going to make the state team.

Snow & Sera, congratulations!

Vik, Welcome to the board! Randy mentioned he's trying to get you to leave Houston once in awhile. I suggest for your first trip you climb on the plane with him next month and come to the Missouri River Classic!

Marist, hang on, I'm going with you. We'll make it 37.

Trust me, shooting in the clay wasteland that is VT isn't worth the All State title. I'm just lucky to have a place where I can practice on our place otherwise I'd be facing the "don't change the teal, it makes it to harder to hit and my scores go down" mentality.

Hmm, maybe for $10 a year you can accept my NSCA mail at your address?

KK thanks for the invitation, I don't think I will be able to take the trip this time with Randy, but I will definitely entertain the idea for next time. Plus I would not be able to face Sera and explain to him why the first trip was not Louisiana.

Vik, has no one explained to you that it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission? Don't worry about Sera for now, you can explain it later!

I understand, but be sure to come see us when you can! :D

I made my state's team but in no way deserved it. I shot well at our state shoot but didn't do very well at any other shoot the entire year. In fact I didn't even shoot after July, I was shooting so bad I decided to play golf the rest of the year.

The system needs to be revamped in some way.

Hey KK, I read somewhere that Booneville was built up on a high bluff away from a rising river, is this true?

Man some folks are really catching it bad, I hope all of you are well.

Yeah, we're fine here. The flooding is all in southern and eastern MO. I went to River Hills last Sunday and the Missouri was still several feet below flood stage. Interestingly, when the big one hit in '93 our part of the state was overwhelmed and the south and east were fine. This time it's the other way around. This time it was caused by all that damn gulf moisture that comes up here from TX.

As for River Hills, while you can see the Missouri from some places on the course (you're gonna love the bluff station), if it ever floods you can expect to see Noah come by in his ark...

Go to another web page called shotgunsports.com in to their forum section for shooting sports and page down until you find a topic on All State team criteria. You can actually view the scoring system for all individuals considered-how you did in your state tourney is a big factor.
