Are you better off than you were eight years ago? Not we as a country but YOU.

By better off I mean job wise, money wise, ect,ect.[/b]

Vote the way YOU think. Not what politicians might be telling you.

Yep, a lot better off and I have new magazines, a new rifle and still shoot semi-automatic shotguns.

Oh yes, I have money to spend and can buy more than one gun a month....

Yep, better off in a lot of ways. Physically, financially, and spiritually. I hope to have 8 more years as good or better than the last 8 years.

Better off? Let's see.

About to enter college. No car. No guns. No job. Assault Weapons Ban still in effect.

Now
Soon to be debt-free. New job, more pay, guaranteed employment for 18-24 months. In one red state now, moving to another. Own a few guns, will own a lot more unless a female enters the picture. Then I'll just have to own only a few more.

Yeah, I'd say I'm better off (but it's not because I deserve it).

I notice a lot of people coming to check this topic out but not a lot of votes.

Much better. I now have two motorcycles paid in full, my car is almost new and halfway paid off, I have a sweet gun collection, my job is great for the time being and my girlfriend is simply the best I could ask for. 8 years ago sucked in comparison.

8 years ago I was 10 years old and living in a group home, so yeah I'm doing much better now than then. :p

In the last 8 years I've gone from living the dream to hoping for death cause the all I have left is nightmares. Yeah things are just swell.

All things considered, yes I am alot better off than 8 years ago...had to move across the country to do it though. My kids are in a good school district, my wife has a great job, and I am working in a new profession that I really enjoy. I hope that I can say the same 8 years from now.

Yes... salary, position, marriage are all better. That is for me, personally. That said, I live in Detroit... wanna know how society, here, is doing?

8 yrs ago I was married with 3 boys and a home. Now I live in a trailer down by the river, see my boys on weekends, have 3 more guns then I used too have, and money was cut in half. GOOD SIDE, I have my boys on weekends for fishin and huntin, I have 3 more shotguns, and no more head aches for about 4 years now! only bad side is my income is cut in half. in about 7 more years I'll be in better shape.

July 2010, so no-I am much worse off now.

No, pay has been frozen for last 2.5 years, with estimate of continued freeze if not furloughs to come. This due to the economy.

Then on personal side, found out 3 years ago that wife had $76,000 in hidden credit card debt to fund Rx drug habit. Divorced her (this being the 5th spending disaster of hers), but lost almost everything battling her creditors. So in the mean time, my pay is froze and my own credit rating bottomed out. Tough climbing out of this hole at this time.

Why do people dredge up surveys from 2 1/2 years ago? :( :( If you want a survey on how people are doing financially now, start a new survey. Today's economic situation bears little resemblence to the economic situation of 2 1/2 years ago.
