Anyone shot a K-80 pro sporter? I'm wondering what your impressions are about shooting a high-rib gun for sporting clays and skeet. Guess I'm an old dog when it comes to getting used to these new high-rib guns but it looks pretty cool and I read nice things about it.

I would say the high rib would be fine for trap shooting or sporting clays, but not too good on the skeet range. Barrel length and choke constrictions also enter into the equation. Doubt there are many here who can respond to your question. They're aren't a plethora of K80's around...

There might be more K-80 shooters than you would imagine. I don't shoot a K-80, but I do shoot a Browning XT trap gun at ALL the clay target games (including skeet). I'm no champion, but I do allright with it. I think the high rib guns would be a good fit for a lot more people than you might think.

I would think there a lot of K80 shooter her.

I shoot a CG trap high rib gun for sporting clays sometimes and do OK with it. I like my Beretta trap O/U better because the rib ia about half the size as the CG.
I would guess it is close to the K80 sporter.

I hope I will get a chance to shoot the new CG Impact soon. My dealer tring to get me a demo to shoot. I have to wait and see.

The K80 pro Sporter is another gun on my list to try. For now my sporting gun will work just fine.

Thanks for the other threads. There was some advice given about the transition from standard rib to high rib, but no one actually mentioned the mental part of the change. If you change your stance to more upright and have a completely different sight picture with the high rib gun, your site picture will obviously change. This could cause you to hesitate and miss birds.

I can shoot both of them equally as well. You're making a big deal out of nothing. The hi-rib makes for better trap shooting and I've done allot of that in my time...

I have a std SC's K 80. I have shot the Pro Sporter several times. I did not like it .

If you like to have a gun that keeps your face up....then this may be the gun for you. With the high rib and high comb, it allows the shooter to keep his face from rolling over on the comb.

I could not get used to this feature....and I am so accustomed to the way my gun fits that it did not "feel" right to me.

Try to shoot one before jumping.
