Hello all you Yildiz fans, I am going to start a thread like the one I have going in the Huglu Forum. The Huglu and Yildiz shotguns catch a lot of flack from the Forums up above, so I decided to do a test and log every time I shoot and how many rounds to see how these guns fared. The Huglu is doing fine and I hope the Yildiz will also. So here goes nothing!!!!

Got my Yildiz 06/09/10 took it out shooting 06/12/10 and fired 100 rounds through her, everything was A-OK, nice fitting gun, nice looking gun, all was good. So counting the 34 rounds fired by the person I got her from we are at a total round count of 134. Hopefully a long way to go. Will post some pics later, 2few I am off and running!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

One last thing, I always take out at least 5-9 guns so when I post pics you will not only see the Yildiz, but very possibly a Browning, Winchester, Remington, Beretta, CZ, Weatherby, Ithaca, Mossberg, Benelli, Stoeger, H & R, you will see Autos, O/U's, Pumps, and Single Shot, I like all guns, shoot all brands of guns, and don't discriminate against any gun. Well I don't own a SxS two trigger gun, but my good friend 2few is diligently working to change that.

The lineup I shot on 06/12/10

GREAT WORK cdb!!!!!

Like some of us "Huglu guys", the "Yildiz guys" are sick to death of being told our shotguns "handle like fenceposts"; are "useful only as boat anchors or tomato stakes" and all that other BS!

An honest thread like this puts it all on the line. The gun is either reliable or its not! And with the lineup of guns you have, you're not going to pull punches or any such nonsense.

It's GREAT to have someone maintain a long running thread about a brand's reliability, especially the affordable brands that so many like to bash!

I'll have my Yildiz in hand within a month and will do my meager best to maintain a similar thread.

As you said, we'll just report on the reliability of our Yildiz guns and let the chips fall where they may.

The "boat anchor" folks can talk all they want, but all that talk doesn't compare with a simple, factual regular round count!

THANK YOU for taking on this project!

Best......2few

I might join you guys before long and get a Yildiz so I can join the shooting club. Maybe I will get a little 410 and we will have the 3 guages they are making. My skeet scores will go down but hey! they are going down anyway

This is long term fun :D

I dunno SGRSS20.....a .410 Yildiz.....what would it weigh.....13 oz?

That's not too much of an exaggeration, actually 4.9lbs. They are really pretty and almost feel like a toy in your hands. I figure since I am missing more anyway, might as well have a 410 to blame it on  :) :)

I will wait and keep an eye out and see if I can get real lucky on the wood and engraving. I have noticed that some of the incoming Y guns have more heavily blackened wings and outline of the birds. It is not done well cause it looks like someone took a piece of charcoal to them :?: :?: Maybe it's just a batch finished by the guy with the carcoal  and the more conservative outline will keep coming out :?: :?:

Ain't that the truth!?! When I first saw one, I though it might be a SxS rifle in .22 LR (which would be very cool, BTW); that's how small the actions and barrels are. I didn't weigh it, but I did guess it to be under 5 lbs, so your 4.9 lbs. sounds very realistic to me.

If I had any love at all for the .410, I'd definitely have one of these. BTW - They are extractor only. Too bad they don't make them in 28 ga with ejectors, like they do the 20 ga...

Well BP.....It was what??? 2 years ago you told me I should check out the Yildiz guns. Well....I'm a slow learner, but I'll have one in hand soon! :D If I like it as much as I think I'm going to, you'll probably see me toting it come January when we all meet up again in January! I love my DeHaan SGr, but I've got to say...at 7 1/4 lbs it got a little heavy towards the end of the day!

Went out shooting after work yesterday, shot the Yildiz 75 times for a total of 209, would have shot a lot more but this lousy Illinois weather put a premature end to the shooting, it started raining. :( :( :( . Will try again Sunday but does not look promising.

2few - I don't recall when I first discussed the Y-gun with you, but you're a well-documented slow learner; 3 ex-wives will attest to that!!!

SGR - The 20 ga is the only Y-SxS that has ejectors. I can see that it would be quite a bit more difficult to put them in a .410, but I don't understand the 12 ga. We may see a 28 ga gun from them, but I'd bet that (and I'll be disappointed when) they'll not have ejectors....

Took the Yildiz out today 125 rounds fired through it, 334 total. She is a dream to shoot.

That's great news Chuck. I am beginning to really believe that the Y gun O/U is an outstanding shotgun and one of the true bargains nowdays---time will tell :!: I have no reason to doubt the side by's but they have very limited distribution of the most basic models at this time. I think Yildiz is missing the boat on side by's  With ejectors and a redesigned forearm (it's too square and skimpy for most models) the higher grade models should be real winners.

ARE YOU LISTENING YILDIZ :?: Academy sports (company buyers) are not getting it done with their limited models being purchased.

LATER

Twelve posts in a week? Look out or the Yildiz forum police might write you up for exceeding the posted limit.

Sometime this year an Academy store is opening in Rogers and Texarkana, but I think the latter might be on the Tejas side.

I kinda thought maybe Hot Springs would snag one coz Dick's opened a store there, but I guess the city of newlyweds & near-deads yields to the nuevo economic growth of the upper NW quadrant.

Of course Academy only has about 1/4 of the amount of stores that Dick's operates.

Nice looking collection and thanks for sharing the pics.

Possibly at a later date we'll have a discussion on the Prince of Wales buttstock...

Maybe we should slow it down a little bit, don't want to overheat the forum. Nix, what about the POW stock, like, dislike? To me they are not that different.

What timing Chuck :!: I am proud to announce the arrival of "Heather" my new Yildiz 410 ME, OU. She was waiting for me in the Auburn store this afternoon as I returned from Atlanta. Her wood is oh so fine :D and her laser engraving is better than most :!: She had just come in with two others but she really stood out! Her action is nice and smooth even before I give her a beautification treatment. Did the best I could with a few quick pics:

I do believe you have it right there cdb......

I just got to wonder......

How are these Yildiz guys going to feel once they are truly invaded by the Huglu Hordes?

And how do we act as invaders????

Are we benevolent? Or do we....

Kill the men...

rape the women....

enslave the children....

And once we have finished our work here and left them with "responsible government and a lively Forum"....Where do we go next??????
