Trigger pull is long, but very smooth with a clean break. It kind of feels like a sa/da that is half cocked. There is a little trigger movement, that takes up slack, and then a relatively full length trigger pull.

It is attached by a stiff "trigger wire", that is attached to the trigger hook, and runs forward along the underside of the barrel. Getting that to work smoothly, without snagging on anything, and the sear resetting, was the hardest part of it all.

For length comparison:

I FINALLY! finished my new shotshell holder for my 590a1! This is way better than the first one I did which was just a pocket on the side of the cuff. I made this one with individual loops, and prestretched and conditioned the loop strap to maintain a snug fit to the shells. Also, even though I reinforced the strap with a copper rivet on each end, there is no hardware on the inside because I made a seperate panel for the loops and saddle stitched it to the cuff. I know, I know, I have birdshot pictured here, not my HD load... but this is also being billed for hunting and field use too.

Thanks folks!

LOVE IT {hs#

Hey Jeff! It works real good with rifle sights. I now have the stock on a 20" blued bead sight Ithaca that I sleeved for winchokes yesterday. It has a pedestal bead like what comes on the Remington 870 HD guns and it has plenty of drop for it. It also has plenty of drop for a vent rib barrel as I tried my 21" field barrel on it. I ordered a 20" M&P barrel, it should arrive today. When it gets here I'll slap it on and let you know how it feels with a regular bead. Fair warning if you get one they install funny. I had to remove the pistol grip (1 hex key screw) and access the stock bolt through a slot that is revealed once the grip is removed. I used a pair of needle nose pliers to get it started then finished it off with a box end wrench, just thought i'd let you know because they (at least mine) did not come with instructions. Also, if you install it on a magnum gun the forend tube is shorter on the magnums because of the longer slide bar. You will need to shorten the forend from the back end about 1/4" or so. It's a really good feeling stock and I was pleased with the quality and overall feel of the stock. I'll probably end up building another in the future. Gimme a holler if I can be of any further assistance!

Looking good Oregon
Thanks. I can't think of anything left to do to it. LOL
Hard to believe you can put $1200.00 into a pump shotgun.
Yeah, I can think of about 12 hundred dollars worth of of 12 ga. pump action hapiness...

Nice lookin firearm, ;)

Been lurking these parts for some time. These pages have been mildly informative and highly entertaining.

This was my first shotgun...a 1978 Wingmaster 870 with 20" cylinder bore barrel. It was used for every purpose; pest control, H-D, range work, and most importantly appliance destruction. It was sold for financial reasons early this year. I had an inclination to go semi-auto, anyway.

The love of the 870 was too much to fully let go...so the closest thing in a semi was the 1100.

This example built in 1974. I haven't so much as fired it yet...but I can't resist handling her
So far I like everything about it...except for maybe the razor sharp receiver interior edges. My first cleaning session involved much cursing.

It's set up as a 7+1 with low-pro rifle sights. I am anxiously awaiting putting some rounds down the tube.

The light is a single cell CR123 running a Malkoff M30WF in a cut down 6P body.
More info please?
Is the body a cut down 2 cell, or an aftermarket single cell?
Either way, who cut it down/ made it?

How well does the LED run on 3 volts?

I've been looking at setting up a couple guns with lights, and was thinking something along the lines of a "poor man's mini scout", possibly with an aftermarket strobing tail switch, if I can find one that doesn't require 2 presses to get to strobe mode.

Thanks for the help.

Mine is a 14" SBS with Wilson +1 and KingsArmory Brake/Breacher (excellent work that guy did before self destructing :( )

The light housing is an original 6P I had from way back that I cut down and re-threaded on the lathe. I didn't want a light sticking out farther than my barrel after paying ATF $200.00 to cut 4.5" off I wanted that OAL to be 14" !!!!

You can get a SF single cell module though IIRC, they are pricey I believe and you will need to call them direct as they are rarely found on the internet.

The drop in module is perfect for HD. It runs on one CR123 (3v) but you could cut the body a hair longer and use an AW 18500 rechargeable for more run time. I don't care for rechargeables in a weapon light, even if I can use primaries also.

Here is the CR123 X2 version of the dropin. He is not making the M30WLF right now it would seem.
