unplugged, that is a fair comment! Although not said directly there is a strong implication, well that's how I read it. If not I'm sorry. I still come back to the point for any TRUE World Championship it needs to be shot around the World. NZ was keen to hold another World FITASC but I gather FITASC have said no, as the money is not there in bucket loads for them. If this is correct it is the demise of seeing other countries and travelling to good places. If money and large numbers be the only criteria, then hold it in UK (didn't they loose thousands and thousands of pounds when they last ran it?) and the USA, even then it was not quite full. It will be the for some shooters, who like travel and greenfield sites, the end of it. Can you imagine going back to San Antinio and flat boring ground with, if I remember fire ants and beware of the snake signs. Not that a few defections will worry the governers of the game, but it will be a sad day.
Madds,

With your reasoning I encourage you to join the Obama administration, you would fit right in.

1. A TRUE World Championship is one where all of the best shooters in the world gather and compete.

2. If you want the sport to flourish, put the premier events where the most individuals can participate, not where a few paid professionals only go because their sponsorship agreements require them to.

Hi Rib 52, I understand that totally it makes financial sense and I'm sure FITASC would agree 100% with you, as would many ground owners, Associations putting on the event.
I just think it's not the right way to do it. We travel, Henry and his mates travel down from Canada, the UK, France, Spain etc.etc. all travel, so why wouldn't it hurt a few Americans to make the effort and travel, obviously everyone else does! It not just a few paid professionals that travel, that's nonsense from what I've seen in places other than the USA/UK. Anyway onward and upward on my 1 man crusade.

8) Madds, you just gotta remember that San Antonio is the centre of the shooting universe?
Another fact is that 99% of US shooters never venture outside of America to shoot!
When the USA/UK "World" is in San Antonio there are 200 or so Brits there the rest are "Yanks" but when its in the UK there are 30 "Yanks" and the rest are Brits with a handful of Scandinavians! Now thats what you call a REAL World C/ship!

How about identifying the number of shooters in a region, Africa, South America, Oceania, North America, Asia and Europe.

Then have the top three nations rotate and every 4th year head to someplace else?

I think addressing the largest numbers of shooter makes sense but I also agree with Madds in that the competition should move around the planet.

Reasonable compromise?

I would respectfully have to disagree, if that were really the case then we should have all Olympic games alternating between China and the USA.

World champs is a title bandied around much too often IMHO. To be truely global, we have to spread it around. That finnish? shooter gave everyone a run for their money at Northbrook, there's probably a lot of "master" shooters in Eastern europe also, I'd love to shoot at thier clubs. Shooters from other countries are prepared to travel many, many kms to the US and the UK.I would say that travel is not the problem, but the mind set or motivation of the "local" shooters. There's a big diverse world out there guys, nothing to be afraid of............. :)

Wisconsin ? Hell, you're closer to Toronto than Texas :)

Well said Bull Tahr, must agree totally with your comments. Can't really argue against that, but someone will try no doubt. LOL!!
Next time you USA locals organise a major shoot or World FITASC, be kind to us and try to run an event on the West Coast. That would mean only 1 International flight, and you may get a few more shooters from the Oceania, Asia region. I see FITASC is looking at setting up an Asian competition, similiar to Oceania Cup I'd imagine but no info out yet.
I look forward to more good debate on this web site, at least it has some good discussion and good points raised.

so true, but I really wanna shoot a big event, and I'm thinking this could not only be the one, but a real good time, are you going YSR?

also what are the dates of the shoot? I can't find any info on the NSCA website, or really anything else for that matter.

Yes, those are all 2013 dates.

I'm confused about "National FITASC, U.S. FITASC Grand Prix, and North American FITASC Championship".

How many FITASC championships are we going to have here?
