If I was a betting man I would put a thousand down on them sending you a new hammer for free.....and as far as i know this is the first one I have seen do this!
There have been a couple of firing pins break, but this is the first hammer I have seen.
Give them a call on Monday and let me know what they say.
I got a pleasant surprise when I called today. Apparently my gun is covered by the 2011 hammer recall (no "V" on the trigger plate), so they are sending me a whole new trigger plate assembly. Unfortunately they are out of stock so this item is on back order, but at least Remington stepped up to the plate and are providing first-class support. Kudos to Remington  .

My Feed Latch Pivot Pin (roll pin) keeps working its way out of the receiver.

I press it back up and it slowly works itself back out. Any tips or solutions for this? I have zero experience with roll pins. This is part 26 in the manual.

If nobody here has any suggestions, contact remington. I'm sure they'll help you

have yall ever had and experience with sending your versamax back for repair without a receipt of the date your purchased the gun, my gun is currently giving me a lot of trouble with 3 inch shells I took it and shot 2 3/4 and it shot great put 3 inch shells in the gun and both hang up on the first shell. its like the gun spent shell is not getting to the extractor before the new shell is trying to be loaded into the chamber. I called Remington and they told me I was probably going to have to pay for all the repairs on the gun because I don't have a receipt. I bought the gun on july 25, 2012 have the loan paper work just no receipt.

Turn the gun so that the side the pin is working out off is in the up position.
Add a drop of blue locktight.
Locate the pin back to its proper place.
Leave it set overnight.

This could be due to the roll pin being undersized (seems unlikely to me unless Remington have zero incoming QC, but I guess its possible), or the hole in the receiver being oversized (either due to a manufacturing error, or due to wear if you have ever removed the roll pin yourself and in doing so stretch/abraded the hole). The roll pin should not be rotating, so there should be no dynamic wear on either part in normal use.

Loctite would work, but I'm not sure it is the best solution. The roll pin should hold in place without Loctite (it is designed to work as a spring pressing outwards on its hole). Loctite would be at best a bandaid, and if slathered about too liberally could cause the shell latch to bind or seize.

Finding a slightly oversized roll pin would be a better solution, but still a bandaid that I would normally reserve only for fixing an old/worn or Bubba'd gun.

For a gun that is likely still in or just barely out of warranty, I think this is the right answer. They may send you a replacement roll pin in the hope it is a tighter fit, or they may change the entire receiver (the proper fix if the hole is oversized).

hence my suggestion of a "drop" of locktight {hs#

it is not necessary or recommended for this pin to be removed for cleaning, weather a person has done so or it is just moving on its own, a steel roll pin will defeat a aluminum hole in short order...period!
my suggestion of using a drop of locktight was to stop the movement whereby holding the pin and hole wear in check.
it will work fine for many years, however if I ever have this "loose pin" happen in mine I will tap each side of the aluminum hole and add a dog point set screw on either side of the roll pin.
that sucker will not move then unless I want it to!

Call Remington and ask what they will do, meanwhile add the drop of locktight and keep hunting for now.

I have had some issues now with my VM. You shoot the gun & it ejects & loads the next shell, but won't fire. It seems like the gun is not cocking or the hammer is slipping off. Work the gun manually & it fires. doesn't happen everytime. Anyone had this problem? THANKS!

My guess would be a problem with your disconnector/hammer relationship. Try this:

1) Remove the trigger group from the gun.
2) Cock the hammer.
3) Using a finger to retard the hammer's fall, pull the trigger and HOLD THE TRIGGER BACK.
4) While still holding the trigger back, re-cock the hammer and see if it engages the disconnector. If not, then that is your problem. Could be broken (disconnector or hammer), dirty or have a weak spring.

My Versa Max has me so confused that I do not know what is going on. It will shoot 3 1/2s fine and it will shoot 2 3/4s fine but if you throw a 3 inch shell in there it will not eject the shell. The gun is currently on its way back to remington so maybe they can get it right. There was something inside the chamber that looked to me kinda like corrosion i tried to clean it out and never could get it off. has anyone else ever had any trouble with it not wanting to eject a certain size shell. i have went through all my options on thinking what it might be. the most obvious thing i think it could be is a gas issue, or the second is a timing issue with the second shell trying to feed into the bolt but if it was a timing issue wouldn't yall think it would catch the 3 1/2 shells to.

yeah i shot about 30 2 3/4 through it and then put winchester 3 inch in and hung up on the first shot then i put 3 inch kent and same thing. the shell is not even making it to the ejector. But maybe remington will get it right.
