Love vests. Tryed two different pouches and they felt like they were pulling down my pants. I have 2 beretta vests, a thicker one when cooler out and just bought a mesh one with a nice leather shoulder piece on it. I love having the recoil pad when I shoot about 2 flats a weekend, it really helps out. And in the summer time we always get there at 8 in the morning when they open, so we are done by the time it gets really hot out. Bringing up a gun to a vest with a recoil pad just feels nice and soild for me. But I also always wear shooting gloves too. Once I got used to shooting in soft leather gloves, I can't shoot without them now. I'm just a wussy shooter now

I like my trusty Budweiser vest because it has pockets for shells plus insulated beer can holders.

Just what we need, shooters on the line with beer in their pockets. I am hoping that is a joke.
It's a joke, for sure. I'm a pouch man and don't carry any beer in it.

As they said in "Stripes" - "Lighten up Francis"

Shooting with gloves is not wussy. Been shooting since 95 and have always worn a vest and gloves.

Being comfortable and confident is what matters to me. Vests that fit properly feel good. A nice form fitting light weight vest with an extra pocket or two make me feel good, confident.
Wear what makes YOU feel good. If you need to look "cool", and it makes you feel good, then go with it.

Nicely stated.

Gloves here too, just got a pair by Under Armor, nice fit.

AND THEY ARE COOL TOO.

Some of us like to look cool, some don't. and ,yes, if you look cool, you better be able to shoot good.

Skeet Shot hit it!!

Nothing wrong with wearing Daisy Dukes and a wife beater, no problems with me. To each his own, and you shouldn't get bashed by some "trolling" sour azz on here, who is just an unhappy SOB,

So to all who fit the above mentioned category...GFY......

Pouch and a pull over padded Henley from pine tree custom. When it gets colder, I wear a long sleeve carhartt under it and when it's even colder I use a pair of under armour glove liners.

Too short and round to wear a vest without it looking like a dress or something. I've actually not found a vest that fits my beer belly ;)

I know we are wandering but I never shoot without gloves; on the field or in the field. To me they make cut checkering feel better and help protect the finish on my guns. And since I shoot a lot of barnyard pigeons, which are filthy, they help keep my hands cleaner (and hand sanitizer is your friend shooting on a dairy or around a feedlot). I like LL Bean's Pittards leather shooting gloves best but also have several pairs of Browning, Gates, Cabela's, and Bob Allen leather shooting gloves. Shotguns may not be my only obsession.

If you REALLY want to look cool, wear a Barbour shooting jacket and shirt (with tie), lodge cap, tweeds, breeks, and "wellies", along with a leather shell bag. You will definitely look cool........

I noticed today on the skeet fields that alot of the younger crowd wears the nice vest's like my Beretta vest. And we wear nicer shorts and such. Were as the older crowd wears NOTHING but a pouch and usually a towel hanging from their hip. Almost 95% of the older crowd always has a pouch and towel, were us younger guy's i guess try to look COOOOOLLLLL!!!! But i'll shoot in the nude if i could shoot like some of the older wiser guy's in a heartbeat. And i tried a round without gloves today and i made it 1 station and stopped to put them on again. I like the nice cushion feeling, instead of the checkering crushing into your hand's. And it keeps my sweaty hands off my new baby!!!

Well i just turned 40 and look much younger, but i would say late 30's and younger, and older is the guys in their late 50's and up to 60's and 70's here. Then again some of the guys don't really take care of themselves and look much older!!! Perfect example was about a month ago a couple of guy's in their late 50's early 60's were watching me shoot and giving me tips which was awesome. They stayed with me for about an hour or so and keep calling me kid. Finally i told them i was just about to turn 40 and they almost fell over, they both thought i was maybe 22-25. I guess being 5'10 175 and having tattoos all over my arms they thought i was younger!! That's why i feel so young still, compared to were i shoot i look like the baby at 40!!!

I prefer black Footjoy golf gloves. They have a good grip yet are not too thick. As I am allergic to nickel it sure helps wearing them. Especially when sweating which makes the allergy worse. I must have acid for sweat or something.

And in my experience, you will miss more than you hit. And look like a tool while you do it.

Wyo you just need a bigger pouch.
Or shoot smaller birds...

Cool is cool, 25 some years ago when I was hot and heavy into clays, I use to bring my nephew with me sometimes, at 15 he was all about cool, At the time I owned a couple shotguns, Mossberg 500, Beretta 686, a couple single shot HR's, one was his.

When I bought my 686 the shop threw in a Beretta shooting vest, I never wore. My nephew wanted to shoot only the 686, wear that vest, and wore the whitest cleanest sneakers. Because he looked cool. Didn't matter he hit 7 of 25 in skeet.

I love that guy, he has been my little buddy since he was less than one. Still is. One day shooting, he told me I should dress better, (I wore my beat up hunting vest with a pouch), use a better gun than the 500, cause I don't look cool, I had to remind him I couldn't he's using all my cool stuff  Guess what he got me for XMAS that year? a cool vest seems I was cramping his style when we walked together at the club.
