In another thread a poster told of having a budget to purchase his own service award for years with the company. Of course, he bought a gun; a Superposed. Similarly, a friend of mine received a new Caesar Guerini Summit for 25 years with his company. I, on the other hand, got a nice watch after 30 and 35 years, which is pretty common fare. I hasten to add, that I picked them myself from a selection of several items. What about the rest of you. What does your company do to recognize years of service?

At 30 years they send you a little book with trinkets from candle sticks, to rings, to watches and you get to pick out what you want. I opted for the Fossil watch worth about $50.

I can see both ways, kinda cheesy for 30 years of service, but hey they did give you 30 years of pay checks!

For my 5 year award I got a $25 gift certificate for the local grocery store. At 10 I got a leather check book case. For 15 years I received a chintzy plastic clock from a catalog they gave mes. The last two years they have tried to get me to choose something from that same catalog of which the clock was the best worst option available. I have refused to choose anything as I would rather have nothing than something rejected by the Dollar Store.

I'm the boss and I plan to give myself the entire company. Anyone want to buy it???
