I didn't call pull once....I fired no shots and broke not one target. Didn't miss any either.

Early this week I had made the decision to replace my Tekny's 391 Beretta. I visited the Cole Gunsmithing website to explore options. I was stoked when I scrolled thru the listings and came across a Cole "Special Edition" A400 Excel with a black cerakote finish replacing the blue that I had never been crazy about. Yesterday morning, I called them and we made the deal. in 24 hours their gunsmith set it up in the release trigger configuration I need. I drove down today and picked it up.

Was my first visit there in person. I had done all prior business over phone and using shipping there and back for parts and a couple of gun tuneups. Very nice folks and glad I got there in person.

When the rain stops here sometime this weekend I will get out to run the first ammo thru it.

As an added bonus, on my way north I decided to stop at Mardens in Waterville as I had heard they had closed out a few Walmart locations and had some ammo. I was able to pick up 4 flats of Suprema target loads for $38.40 a flat. Marist the frugalist would approve. Not top quality stuff but I have shot a fair amount of it in 20 gauge and it has worked just fine. It will be a bargain fix for my sporting clays crack habit :D

After reading your post I "HAD" to look at one of these. That's what Beretta should have made from the start rather than that UGLY smurf tribute gun. I knew a few companies offered that and was talking with a lady from Beretta at a shoot and told her my dislike for the color, she said there are companies out that will anodize it a different color... so on top of what you spend on the gun, you have to spend "X amount" to make it not ugly... Enjoy your gun.

The Suprema shells at Walmart will break anything on the sporting clays course.

They hit hard but do have some kick to them.

At $38.40 a flat I would buy all I could. They are $5.48 a box here.

i did buy every box they had and would have bought more if they had them. It was a very pleasant surprise to see them on the rack.

Running them thru the gas gun will soften them up quite well I expect. I have shot a few friends A400's and it is a very comfortable recoil eating action.

i took some pics last night but as usual am struggling with the pic posting process on SGW.

Alas....I knew those college weekends would bite me. Just took 35 years to really take full effect

Hargh! You are in for a treat! You will love the A400. I have never heard of any complaints from the owners and the lack of recoil makes the gun shoot like a dream.
Shooting the A400 gave me an idea of the characteristics I wanted in my next S/G. I didn't like the "Smurf" colored receivers of the A400 and gas operating systems are notoriously dirty. I went with Benelli's answer to the A400, the Ethos(Rafael in Europe). I like my Benelli but the A400 has noticeably better recoil reduction and the owners claim it doesn't get very dirty and is a snap to clean.
In a few years I will buy another S/A and it will be fun because there is so much competition and evolution of the designs.(I really like the Benelli SBE II)
Here is a pic of my current S/G's, in the foreground is the 12 ga Ethos, and in back is my beautiful old 20 ga Wingmaster. I really lucked out with the Wingmaster as my first clay gun. I didn't know what I was getting into and my BIL sold me his 60's? era wingmaster. After a year of going after true pairs I wore the slide out and Remington did a great job of refurbishing it. Its my backup S/G for meets and tourneys.(ALWAYS have a backup plan)

You will need to open an account at a picture hosting site. I use picturetrail, there are several others (photobucket for example)

You upload your pics to the hosting site.

You will then go to the "get image urls"

select the one called forums and copy it to your clipboard. it will look like this

<---- you will need all this stuff to make it work
