I am fairly new to hunting and am looking to upgrade to an auto-loader. Any ideas on what would be the best shotgun? It will be primarily for dove hunting and not much else. I was planning on getting a 12-ga in the $400-600 and there seems to be a lot to choose from. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Walmart sells the Remington 11-87 Sportsman, clad in camo from head to toe for $500.00.

Free, Wing Master hit the nail on the head. That is a great deal. My local Walmart has the same gun, same price but it also as a 11-87 Premier 20ga w/26" barrell for $500. I have seen both at other Walmarts for the same price. When shopping at Wallyworld check the gun carefully, sometimes the display models have small nicks in the stocks, ask for a manager and ask for a discount. They will usually accomodate your request.

oops, forgot to add that the 11-87 Sportsman only comes with 1 choke, modified I think. Wally sells an upgrade kit with improved cylinder and full choke as well as a better tube wrench & bottle of remoil for $25

I would get a used (in this order of preference) beretta 390 or remington 11-87.

well camo is nice but for doves it doesnt really matter. They are hit in the air so unless your trying to hit them on the ground camo is just a waste of money. Take a look at the beretta 3901 i had one and had 1 mishap in 5000 rounds.
