I added a picture of a recipe for 12ga reloads
that were given to me by a friend that passed away.
He was a gun smith and shot competition skeet and trap.
Does anyone know what power he was using?
I don't know if it was aa125 or hh125 neither one shows
up in a internet search. Thanks for any help that you can give.

That first line would be Winchester AA12S ball powder. Last made about 1970. It's not going to be available now. The wad is almost certainly the "standard" target wad from Winchester back then, and it's still made. Win AA12 12 gauge wad:

I would not try to load to this recipe, even if I had the powder. It's easier to figure out a good safe load with currently available powder and hulls, rather than trying to resurrect a 50 year old recipe. If you could find a Winchester shotshell data handbook that was printed in Feb, 1969 (Yellow cover), it should have data that was originally used with AA12S powder.

According to this SGW post from 2012, your recipe (using the Win AA CF hull) probably appeared in the 1969 booklet. Look at D L Marcum's 2nd post in this thread:

And was used for 2 3/4 dram (1145 FPS), 1 1/8 ounce target loads.

I wonder if that powder later became Win 452 since that recipe would easily work with 452

AA12S and 452AA certainly were both used for light target loads in 12 gauge.

What I read from couple of old posts talking about powder use 40 years before the post date, AA12S was prone to absorbing lots of moisture from the air. 452AA may have been a tweek to the recipe to put in an additive to "keep the powder dry." 452AA was the first of the Win ball powders that I started using, so I don't have personal experience with AA12S.

good luck, garrisonjoe

I've still got 6 lb of 452 and I'm slowly working my way through it. Great powder

Welcome to SGW. i see now this is your first post. If you want to get people with an answer to click your post and type, you need to give a better topic title describing your question. Your title is about the worst thread title ever. "Reloading?" On a reloading forum...
How about something useful like "help decipher old reload recipe".
You'll get many more eyes on and replies.
Best regards.
