NSCA Small gauge,
- It is amazing to me that so few clubs throw small gauge events. It can generally be done as an overlay if they do not have enough room or machines to have a separate course. It is simply free money – just throw out a hula hoop on the ground.
- I disagree with 50 bird shoots only awarding 50% of the All-American points of a 100 target event. This is a disincentive for shooters to shoot the little guns on a regular basis. Why shoot you’re a$$ off all year at 2 points per, and then have someone come in at Nationals and blow you away with 4 plus points per shooter. 100 bird small gauge events are scarce as hen’s teeth.
- The current scenario with a separate classification level was probably a mistake by NSCA. Instead of encouraging shooters to shoot the little guns, it probably took away shooters that would have competed to try and move up in class. It also has been a constant struggle with Winscore having the correct classification for shooters.
- With all that being said, DANG I love shooting the little guns!
