I'm seeing way too many flames, personal attacks and product bashing/stalking on the forums. Here are some tips I sent to a user by the name of
"Mr. IhateeveryoneI'malwaysrightyousuckandmybuddieswillrunyouofftheforum".

1. You are not ALWAYS right.
2. There is never a GOOD reason to insult someone.
3. Do you treat people like this in face-to-face social events?
4. You weren't born with the knowledge, so at some point you must have known absolutely nothing about shotguns, too.
5. People helped you out....return the favor.
6. This is a privately owned venue and we aren't bashful when it comes to asking the unruly to leave....no matter who you are.
7. Every manufacturer of every brand has a Customer Service department and a Return Merchandise process....do you know why? Because no brand is perfect.
8. If we could buy the $3,000 shotgun we probably would, but when you can only afford $700 then that's what you buy. I apply the same reasoning to buying the Subaru rather than the Rolls-Royce I saw in a magazine.
9. Unless your gun tests included pictures of your children don't be offended when people disagree with the results you post.
10. Respond with courtesy and respect. Picture yourself talking to the other person face-to-face if you have to.
11. "Friendliest gun forum on the net" is something we make every effort to protect.
Well said. Thank you!!! Participation in the clay target shooting sports needs to be encouraged in every way, not discouraged. All need to be welcomed and given every consideration to build their knowledge and skill, not demeaned and ridiculed. Those negative behaviors reflect negatively, unfortunately, on so many of us who are doing all we can to bring others to the same enjoyment so many of us have found.

New to the forum and I fully agree

A breath of fresh air - moderated forums allow us to get down to the very point we're all on here - because we all love shooting..
I'm new to the forum, but I've been using a shotgun for over 60 years(that makes me kinda old--but not worn out) I'm new to shooting "steel" and have enjoyed the "forum info" about reloading "this stuff". Thanks for your comments! 12gauge1

As an experienced shooter, can you tell me what the price was for #8 hard mag shot in the early 2000s?
Thank you
Le

I definitely prefer this forum to Trappers. The Trapper guys are way too condescending when you ask a question they consider beneath them and have been known to be extremely abusive to noobies. I've found Curly & Steve to be fair moderators and very helpful sharing their knowledge. Keep up the good work!

I have to admit i had some great advice here. A few years ago i was ready to delete every forum i was involved with. Another forum i was on just didnt get it. It got tedious. Every post i did there was the same derailment.

the advice i got was, "have a break, come back and quit in a yeat". I ditched all the forums except this one. Im glad now. I lost a few friends because they are no longer on this forum. But i still email friends i value.

I hang out in the reloading section. I like it. Oddly it keeps me grounded. I like too see how new reloaders and advanced navigate data.

The mods are beyond helpful. I have had help from the usual suspects.

not everyone has the same experience as i. I like to learn from other people too.

You catch more flies with honey than you do with vinegar

For years I believed I wouldn’t join any group that would have me. I am grateful that I was able to join this group. It has been a very pleasant experience. All the reloading help plus the great conversation, education and entertainment. Thanks, JRV
