Picked up a new to me Citori Feather 12 ga and it needs a new pad on it. I have a Feather 20 ga that has a SC100 on it and I like it but wondering what else is out there. This will be strictly a hunting shotgun so do not want a "sticky" pad. Is there anything better than the SC100 Pachmayr?

I have looked at the Falcon Strike but I would have to cut down the stock a bit. Not that I can't do that. How slick is the Falcon strike when mounting? It is a interesting concept for a recoil pad though.

Is it slickness you want? I think some have coated with nail polish. Of course sc100 has the plastic insert.
There is a pad called shu. Made in europe very hard (almost slick), thin. I bought to put on the end of an isis so the hardness is no big deal.

Old School for me. Pachmayer has been working for almost a hundred years now. I have a kick-eeze and like it, too. Paying more than $50 for a bit of rubber seems like madness to me. I am not falling for any marketing hype.

I'm short so all my butt stocks need cut and pad re-ground. I bought a belt sander and installation jig for less than the price of one installation by a real gunsmith. I leave the real gunsmithing to the real gunsmiths. Grinding a pad is apprentice work.

Almans has either Pachmayer or Pachmayer look alike for $ 9.99 that are a surprisingly good pad. I put one on my 11-48 and I like it far better than the Kickeze or limb Saver I tried.
Thanks I gag on 40 bucks for a good pad. I'll give them a go if I like what I see, thanks for the tip. I will note the Pachmayer comes with good instructions. My SX1 pad is pretty rock hard, not that it really needs a pad.

Limbsaver all day long.

Slip on or permanent

I put a kick-eez on a shotgun and it was 'sticky' at first. After going in and out of racks at the clays course for less than one round, it wasn't any longer. I've heard of people putting talcum powder on them to accomplish the same. The pachmyr pad on my hunting rifle got too hard after just 40 years, so I replaced it with a new pachmyr pad of the same model and it worked out perfectly.

The recoil pad is hard but recoil is not bad at all. I will replace it with the SC100 and probably will fit a 1" then a thinner version for when it gets cold and wearing a jacket.
