8 Flushes, hunted for around 4 hours . An hour of that was walk back over stuff already covered. The dog did a great job . She's 4 1/2 years old and really gets it now. It makes me smile when a dog is able to find and hold grouse. They've got to figure that out on their own. Can't teach that. On the other hand I missed a bunch. I've Got to do better on my end. Need to get out more before the deep snow comes.

Looks like a rather long barreled shotgun. What are the chokes?

Hunting grouse behind a dog in that kind of terrain doesn't call for much, if any, choke. A short barreled, lively gun with open chokes is the ticket for that type hunting. You might improve your scoring success with a different gun. Just my opinion... based on considerable grouse hunting.

20 gauge ,28' barrels wide open cylinder/cylinder.I just had an off day. 45+ years chasing dogs and birds.
