Now if they would just do it.
Might be a while. :? With those ordering today being quoted almost a 2 year wait, I can't see them offering anything new until they can fill existing orders for the Launch Edition gun. I wonder if they'd use the 20 ga. frame as a platform for the 16 gauge.

But when are they going to come out with a 16b on the 20b frame? And lose the choke tubes? If they fixed those two gripes, I'd be elbowing you guys out of the way to get one. Nice little 16 trimmed out a hair over 6 lbs? Where do I sign?

I wonder why the gripe about choke tubes on a brand new, modern side-by-side? According to CSMC, the tubes will be "virtually invisible" when installed. Flush, with no notches, and no barrel bulge. They say you can shoot anything made, including steel.

I can understand how fitting choke tubes in a classic double gun could be viewed as sacrilege, but this is a new gun and since these are supposedly invisible, I'll be happy to have the versatility. I guess you could always pick the two you want and Loctite 'em in for life.

I'm with you SS, I'll take the choke tubes in a new SxS 16 ga. How nice would that be on the 20 ga. frame? Wow.

I agree about it's going to be a while. When I talked to them last week, I was told they have no idea what the next one will be. Like we figure, they want to catch up on the existing orders that are 2 yrs out. I was told though, that the ordering will be ended fairly soon. Possibly by this June. That way they can just worry about the orders on hand.

I still want the 16 ga. offered with the same options as the first model. I'll take a pistol grip, upgraded wood, with the opening assist. :D

You'd have to ask, but I think it makes little sense to pay in full knowing that delivery will be 1 1/2 to 2 years out. I'd just put down the $1000 to lock in the "normal" $2,799 price since there's probably a good chance that price will increase with future editions.

It appears that there's a pretty sizable group salivating over the possibilty of a future 16 ga. version. I'm just not one of them.
Guess I forgot they were that backed up. Yes would not be wise to pay up front.

I am not interested in a 16 gauge either. Would love to see a 20/28 double barrel set.

A customer of ours who had one on order told me a couple of days ago that he was told it would ship any day. Since we are receiving it for him, he asked me to call as soon as it arrived... it hasn't arrived yet.

If I like his, I'm going to order one for myself... 2 year wait be damned! :)

We've all been told that we will be notified about 2 weeks before shipping is expected. I just checked (again  ), and no one has reported on any of the primarily double gun boards that they've been contacted to forward FFL's for shipping.

You aren't Dave at Riverview Sales, are you?

Jon-

Sorry for the delay in responding... I missed your post. No, I am not. Never heard of Rivierview sales before... are they in NY?

Incidentally, still no word from CSMC about this gun. I'll post as soon as I know anything.

When I came home this afternoon, I had a call from CSMC. It seems that my gun will be shipped in early June and they needed my FFL info for shipping. I ordered during the first or second week of the offering. When it gets here, I will post on this site.

My friend was told,by Carol, that the first 300,or so, guns were batched and will be shipped as each group of guns with similar options are completed. The most "standard" guns will be out the door first with options delaying the delivery date a short time. All of the first guns were paid in full from the first orders. Carol said that extra workers have been added to complete these guns.

I wasn't aware that you'd also ordered one A5guy. I wonder how many others on SGW have ordered.

(Ya'll feel free to fess up.)

In mid-March I called to change from Claro to American walnut (they told me that I got the change in "just in time" too), and was told mine would most likely be shipped in May. Yesterday on another site, this was posted, which seems to backup the story you were given.

"I just wanted to let everyone know of the conversation that I had today with a representative of Galazans on my RBL order.

What I called about was to see if it was to late for me to change an option on my gun that I ordered the first week they were offered. I was able to make the change from a splinter to the beavertail, the person I talked to said I just slid under the wire to do so. She went on to say that they were just about to contact me for my FFL information and then asked me to fax it to them.

I then plied some other information out of her that I thought would interest some of you here.

First off she indicated that they are working on the first batch of guns and are trying to hit the mark that they promised for delivery and they have put on a second shift to help with this effort.

Then came the most interesting thing about how they are handling the deliveries. The preference for delivery is not nessesarily how the orders came in, but how they are being batched for production. The way it was explained made sense to me from a manufactureing stand point.

They are batching the guns for configuration and options so that the production will be the same at the same time. Such as stright grip, beavertail, double trigger, 14 1/4" lop or pistol grip, splinter, 14 3/4" single trigger will be going down the line at the same time as a batch.

This seems to make sense in that when you set up a machine to make a part it's better to make several units of that part and then change set-ups rather than run a couple and then change again and again etc.

I'll be interested in seeing what comes out first on delivery. I was told that my gun should be ready somewhere from the middle of May to the middle of June. This is about the time frame that I had antisipated when I ordered even though I was told April and if I see it by July I'll be happy."
