I have a Lanber 2087 and I am looking for a place to buy Steel rated choke tubes. What tube will I need for Pheasants and Ducks. Any idea of what they cost? My Lanber is currently at the Gunsmith getting a LimbSaver Recoil Pad installed. Can't wait to get it back and shot some more Trap. This is my 1st O/U and I Love this gun. I have shot about 500 rounds so far no problems.

I have been told not to shoot steel shot in any of the tubes. I have read about people not being able to get out their choke tubes after shooting steel shot. I an very new to this Brand of gun, but I am sold.

I just got my Lanber back from having a LimbSaver Pad and it shoots great. Shot Trap this week-end 20/25 1st round and 22/25 my 2nd round. My dad just bought a New Franchi O/U and I shot it over the week-end. I still love my Lanber and saved enough to buy another Lanber for the price of the Franchi. Don't get me wrong the Franchi is a nice gun but to the Lanber is of the same quality for 1/2 the price.

Hi Robbie, received your return PM, thanks and no sweat.

I have run across steel rated and lead only Lanber choke tubes in a variety of constrictions. So long as you are using steel rated tubes, and lube w/something like Birchwood Casey Choke Tube Lube, you should have no issues. Glad you like the Lanbers, as IMO they are one of the two best shotgun values (for the $$) on the market, the other being the Benelli Nova.

Jwiley,

Can you send me the same PM? I have a 2087 too. Is it okay to shoot stell with the factory choke tubes (IM, M, IC)?
The PM was an offer to sell two new steel rated tubes that are extras; send me a PM if you need such.

With regard to whether the factory tubes are OK to use with steel shot, I would say: 1) I'd be very surprised if a modern mfr like Lanber supplied lead only chokes with a factory gun, 2) I would defer my opinion to the owners manual, which I believe can be downloaded at www.lanber.net, 3) I would not shoot steel with a choke tighter that Modified, ruling out the IM choice. Hope that helps.

All:
I downloaded the latest CDNN catalog (2006-4) They are offering steel Lanber chokes for $6.99 ea with $9.00 shipping.
Thats a good deal!!
Bachelders offers the OEM Lanber external steel for $29.00 with a $10.00 shipping fee, they are waiting for a new shipment.

Regards
