Hi all,

Been lurking here for a couple of weeks, first post. After "listening" to all of the great comments about Guerini guns, I figured I just had to check them out. Drove over to the 'local' (40 mi. away) stocking dealer, looked at what they had, fondled them, and decided I had to have one. Picked up a demo (less than 200 rounds) 12 ga. Maxum Sporting with upgraded wood and 32" barrel for about a grand under MSRP. It's the latest overbored model, so I think I did OK.

Have been shooting a wonderful Nikko Golden Eagle II that I had Briley backbore, lengthen forcing cones, and install choke tubes. It's a great gun and I do pretty well with it, but it ain't no Guerini!!

Since I live the the People's Republic of California (arghhh), it will be a couple of weeks til I can take possession...I can't wait to put some lead downrange with her.

Will post more complete pics and a range report when she arrives.

Comrade RAH2-

Whatever you do don't use that stinkin' red grease made by locktite. It gets all over the place including the fine engraving. Why I know of a fellow that got the red-stuff even on his recoil pad.

Back to the subject at hand:

That is one fine looking shotgun. Those old-time skeet boys were just drooling over it. The detail in the engraving is breath-taking. When I win the lottery, its gonna be a See-Czar Guerini for me.

Not so much for RAH2 but for the CG community as a whole:
It is suppose to be that stiff to open when new-ish?

Remember to keep you head down and your elbow up!!

I finally picked the gun up yesterday, and promptly headed to the range with my partner Katman. As he stated, there was a small entourage of skeeters who insisted on seeing one of them "Geereenee" guns. Everyone had to shoulder it and look it over. Lots of drool to clean off before heading out to the skeet range (I need to carry some disposable bibs). Gun fits me very well, and when I do my part the birds vaporize. I was a little worried about the 32" barrels, but the gun feels no different in that regard from my 30" O/U. Very nicely balanced, and recoil was quite mild. POI is pretty much POA, and I had to adjust to not floating the bird as much as on most of my other guns. All in all, a beautifully executed piece of craftsmanship. For many years, I had my sights set on a 687EELL Diamond Pigeon...I don't think it has anything on this gun in terms of quality, styling, or function. I still can't believe CG prices these guns so attractively.

Not the greatest pics in the world, but here they are (I'm about as proud of this gun as I can be):

The detail and execution of the engraving is exquisite in my eyes!

Wood is actually much nicer than pic shows (more 'fiddleback' type grain than you see here)

This shotgun is definitely a keeper, and likely not my last CG.

Beautiful gun, RAH2, simply beautiful. I've seen and handled one at Bass Pro, can't say enough good things about the work that goes into that gun. As for me, I can't wait for my Summit Sporting to come in, they said it's backordered 3-6 weeks. Can't wait!
