Personally with me being a younger lad of 22 years old you’d think I’d gravitate towards the over under more. However I find that side x side are better for me due to the fact that over/under obscure my vision more than a side x side. I also find side x side to be a little bit easier to swing...

HI All, i recently purchased an old side by side hammer gun from my local gun shop, the gun is an Armi G Borghessi (I think that’s how it’s spelled) side lock i purchased the gun to do English sporting with and a bit of a fixer upper. I pulled the gun apart cleaned it and what have u. And took...
  4. Shotgun ID & Value
Got a guy interested in my Ithaca. Water table has 410 stamped but no grade (where I'm having trouble valuing it). Foregrip does have an "A" stamped with serial #. All numbers match. #45269. Believe this makes it 1928 for manufacture date but not positive. Used condition but very clean and tight.

Hello, I recently came across and purchased this Springfield Arms / Savage 311 (I believe). It's missing a screw that goes at the top of the tang, underneath the snap lever and in front of the safety. In any schematics out there, I'm not able to find this screw and a possible replacement (or...

I just picked up a stevens 16 gauge sxs choked modified/full. I plan on openening the chokes up but am on the fence as to which combination makes the most sense. I'd like to here your arguments for sk1/sk2 and cyl/ic. I'm hunting in Northern Michigan and grouse and woodcock are really the only...

Hey guys I just picked up a pretty nice old stevens/savage 5100 16 gauge side by side. My intention is to use it as a back up to my model 12 for rainy days or when i just feel like packing a sxs. I was wonder what your experiences with these older stevens guns were and your thoughts on them. I...

Hi, as I am quite new to the world of hunting and firearms I was wondering if someone more experienced could help me figure out roughly when a shotgun I acquired was made. It is a Belgian side-by-side, 12-gauge shotgun, by Pieper/Bayard, but that is about all I know about it. It is in an okay...

Hey everyone, I picked up a 16 ga field grade Elsie last year and am looking to take it up to SD for pheasants this Fall. The gun was completely torn down and inspected by a reputable S/S smith, he did bed the stock head and there were no cracks that he noted. All I’ve shot out of it so far are...

I just acquired a 1950’s Stevens 311A 20 gauge. It’s in pretty good shape overall but one thing I am hoping to fix is that it is hard to keep all the way open to pull out and insert shells. The top lever is left of center a bit, but has good tension and it breaks open easily and locks up tight...

Hi all, I’m currently in the market for a new gun. I particularly wanting to get myself a side by side. (12 gauge) I will use it mainly for pheasant and partridge and was wanting some recommendations for brand and model. I’m fairly new to the shooting world and have shot with both over and...

I'm working on a buddy's side by side. I have no experience with side by sides. I have everything loose to get the receiver off of the stock, but it appears stuck on something. The top screw under the latch was a stripped out and had been replaced at some point. It almost seems like a metal...

Just returned from the Wyoming sage grouse opener, was cleaning my shotgun and dropped the forearm and busted the edge pretty bad. It’s still functional but will need to be replaced in the off season. I know MGW, Nuline, and eBay have replacements, but they are all “clear” grain. I’m looking...
