Bringing my Ithaca Model 37 Defense shotgun for an Alberta moose hunt as my camp gun. The gun is legal in Canada, and I understand that for it's intended use I don't have a limitation on number of rounds I can load in it (i.e. it's a pump action and the manufacturer makes it in 7+1). My question pertains to the ammunition itself.

Is there any restriction on the type of ammunition I can use? I know I can use slugs to hunt, but I don't know if there are any restrictions on this type of round.

I'd rather know BEFORE I get there.
