I have a ****gun that I was given by my grandmother that belonged to her father. The only info that I have found are numbers on the rifle. The patent date is Nov. 16, 1897. There are two other numbers in the same area as the patent date. One I believe is the serial number, 43619. The second I am not sure what it is, 1 1/2E. Any help from anyone would be unbelievably appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Ardy, you have ( according to the serial #) a Crass Model , the 1 1/2 is the Quality (grade) E should mean Ejectors.

pricing is along the lines here:
* 16 ga.
Grading 100% 98% 95% 90% 80% 70% 60% 50% 40% 30%
$1,375 $1,150 $925 $825 $750 $700 $650 $600 $550 $500
20% 10%
$425 $395
then if it does have ejecors add 33%

oh yeah , your gun was made in 1900
