I have a Beretta 12 gauge over/under custom in a leather covered presentation case that appears unfired. It has a plaque attached to the case inscribed with the following:

IL CAPO DI STATO MAGGIORE
DELL'AERONAUTICA MILITAIRE ITALIANA
Gen, ALDO REMONDINO

AL CAPO DI STATO MAGGIORE DELL' U.S.A.F.
Gen. CURTIS E Le MAY

ROMA 2 MARZO 1964

The gun itself has these numbers on the breech, barrells, and bed in the stock:
S. 57E and 29970

The wood and metal all have fine detailing.

While I do not know Italian it seems this was presented to General Le May from General Aldo Remondino.

Can anyone give me an approximate value and any history to this gun?

Thanks
