Purchased an 870 express(brand new), with slug barrel and vented rib barrel around 1985, understand there were some serious problems, including a class action lawsuit about it, but have forgotten what the problems were. I think it was something to do with the barrel exploding. Any info would be appreciated before I give this gun to my brother!

I don't see one on here for 870's but that doesn't mean that there was not one. This is a very handy site for keeping up with that stuff.
