I will be shooting steel shot at the "birds of peace".

Thinking of #7 for early morning, (first 30-minutes or so depending on dove spookiness ), then switching to #6 when shots are a little more farther out. Late afternoon, I'm thinking #5's.

The loads are 7/8's (#5), 3/4's (#6) & 11/16's (#7).

Will also be packing a "Super Magnet" to scan the fallen for steel pellets as there is no need to add any additional income to my dentist.

Update to 2019 post...

I will be returning to my annual opener spot in Inyo county for 2020.
Still shooting steel as CA requires non-tox... Plan to start 30 minutes before sunrise as the reg's allow & most likely will start the morning with #7 shot.
As the day progresses will shoot #6 and maybe some #5's if the birds are really spooky & I have not filled my limit.

Hope you all have a very good opener & watch out for the idiots.
