I've been thinking about getting a sub gauge gun for sporting clays and skeet. Either way I go I would be reloading my own shells. I like the cost savings of the 410 when it comes to reloading but I feel that I would enjoy the 28 gauge more when shooting sporting clays. More than likely I'll shoot sporting clays about 10 times this year and I try to shoot skeet once a week depending on the weather and my work schedule. When it comes to the gun, I'm leaning towards a browning citori special sporting clays from guns unlimited or a citori hunter. Any input?

I am reloading 1/2 oz in Win HS 28ga hulls with Herco now, no problems. Got the Herco from a shooting pal who couldn’t use if it for some reason or another, ‘‘twas the first time I’ve tried it and now I’d gladly get more if I trip across it!
And, 5/8oz in straight-walled 28ga hulls is no problem with the Gualandi G-28 wads, with their tall crush sections.
I don’t have anything “against” .410 but, among all the other reasons I chose 28ga over .410 has turned out to be hull availability …
